The V4 U is the studio vocal microphone from SCHOEPS. It combines the excellent technical properties typical of SCHOEPS with a timeless, classic design.
The appearance of the V4 U is based on the SCHOEPS microphone CM 51/3 from 1951. However, the V4 U is a modern cardioid microphone: the capsule, electronics and mechanics are the result of a complex new development.
THE CAPSULE
-With the 33 mm annular disc, a gradual bundling at high frequencies is achieved, as with a large-diaphragm microphone.
-The advantages of a small diaphragm capsule are retained. Frequency responses and polar diagrams are extraordinarily even.
-The internal capsule suspension dampens structure-borne noise such as handling noises.
THE ELECTRONIC
-Newly developed circuit design with bridge output stage.
-Maximum sound pressure level 144 dB(SPL); this corresponds to an output level of 4.8 V.
-Output stage ironless and free of output capacitors.
-This results in a low, particularly frequency-independent output impedance and particularly high asymmetry damping.
-True balanced output, balanced signal routing.
-High immunity to interference from uninterrupted shielding and a modern EMC filter in the output; very good EMC properties.
