Schoeps - CCM 41 COMPACT MICROPHONE SUPERCARDIOID

Features :
  • Supercardioid polar pattern with high frequency independence of the polar diagram
  • high directivity, comparable to common (short) shotguns up to medium frequencies
  • high frequency independence of the polar diagram
  • preferred use: dialogue during filming and as a support in the orchestra

The CCM 41 is highly directional. It absorbs diffuse sound coming from the room with even greater attenuation than cardioids. The sound is therefore "drier" and their susceptibility to acoustic feedback is lower than with any other type of SCHOEPS capsule, provided a loudspeaker is not radiating directly from behind.

The directional effect is very frequency-independent, so that even obliquely incident and diffuse sound is transmitted without discoloration and therefore "naturally", even at a greater distance from the sound source. This is a real advantage compared to directional tube microphones, whose directivity based on interference only significantly exceeds that of the supercardioid at higher frequencies and whose frequency response and sound pattern depend on the direction of incidence.
